Skill Development
 

HHRD established Skill Development Centers (SDCs) that are providing opportunities to learn skills necessary to earn an income. Particularly, it helps women attain self-sufficiency, financial independence, and ultimately break the cycle of poverty. Please Donate Generously.

 
Pakistan SDC; 411 women learned new skills to support their families.
 
Industrial Homes: Craft Exhibition displaying artifacts handmade by the flood affected women.


Industrial Homes:

    4 Industrial Homes in Pakistan. After the completion of skill development trainings at SDCs, many women join HHRD Industrial Homes to reap the benefits of their new learned skills.

    In 2010, at Industrial Homes: 37 women created different products including dresses, jewelry, decoration pieces, wall hangings and embroidered clothes.

    December 2010: Women got the opportunity to display their crafts at an exhibition to earn income who other wies has no means of supporting their families

    Establishment of SDCs and Industrial Homes: Building and required equipment such as sewing machines, embroidery machines along with accessories and the running expenses were provided by HHRD donations.

Institutes of Technical Education (ITE):
    4 ITEs: Offers 10 courses at subsidized fee structure for boys: Office Automation, Website Designing, Multimedia Designing, Graphics Designing, Computer Hardware, AutoCAD, Google Sketchup, CCNA, Peachtree, Mobile Repairing, English Language and Basic Electrical Supervisory.

    555 boys were admitted, 46 boys completed their courses in 2010.

    Many ITE graduates got jobs and some have started small business enterprises.

Skill Development Centers for Flood Victims:
    HHRD has established 11 SDCs in 11 adopted union councils across the flood affected areas of Pakistan. More then 500 women are acquiring the basic skills to earn their own livelihood. Please Donate Generously.

Afghan Women Empowerment Project:
    Through Skill Development Centers, Industrial Home s, and Adult Literacy program,

    65 (455 men and women) Afghan women in Shamshato Camp Peshawar, by equipping them with skills and providing a platform to market their products.

    Afghan women learnt cutting, sewing, tailoring and embroidering under the supervision of highly skilled teachers.

    Students trained in this institute are now operating their own training institutions inside Afghanistan and refugee camps in Pakistan.
